Cookie Policy

We use 'cookies' on our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and allows us to improve our site for our users.

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file containing letters and numbers that we store in your browser or on the hard drive of your computer.

Why do we use Cookies?

We use cookies for a number of reasons

Essential and Functionality Cookies
These allow us to ensure that our site works properly for our users. For example that the search functionality acts correctly; that your preferences are remembered across the site, and that you know you are logged in to your account as you move from page to page.

Performance Cookies
With these cookies we are able to record how you use our website and make sure we update it to be as useful as possible for our users. We are able to look at this data and analyse statistics such as how long people are spending on a particular page, how quickly they leave the site or which pages they most often view next. We also use the information to work out statistics on website use, the effectiveness of our adverts, resolving errors and testing the design of our website.

What Cookies do we use?

There are two different types of cookies

Session cookies
These are temporary and are erased when you close your browser at the end of your browsing session. The next time you visit that particular site it will not recognise you and will treat you as a completely new visitor as there is nothing in your browser to let the site know that you have visited before.

Persistent Cookies
These remain on your hard drive until you erase them or they expire. How long a cookie remains on your browser depends on how long the visited website has programmed the cookie to last. Persistent cookies store your username and unique ID but do not contain any information that personally identifies you, such as a name or address. We use persistent cookies when you log on to our site to stop you having to re-type information.

How do I block Cookies?

You block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our site.

What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny text files stored on your computer when you visit certain web pages. We use cookies to keep track of what you have in your basket and to remember you when you return to our site.

To access essential features at trilogystores.co.uk you need to have all cookies enabled, though you can still use the website for browsing and research purposes without them.

We also use banner advertising on other websites to present you with products we think may be of interest to you, based on your browsing history.

Types of Cookies

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential in the operation of this website. They are used for a variety of purposes such as remembering the pages visited, items placed in the shopping basket and that the website is in use. This website does not store any personally identifiable information within any cookie or cookie type including any text fields you have completed and credit card information.

Performance Cookies

These cookies collect anonymous information on how users browse the website, the data is merged and used to help us understand how users operate the website so we can make improvements to enhance your online experience. For example we employ Google Analytics cookies to help us record how users arrive and find the website, how they browse and use the website, so we can improve areas such as navigation, shopping experience and marketing campaigns. Other cookies may include tracking purchases for 3rd party affiliate partners, royalty schemes and promotions. Again the data stored by these cookies is not personally identifiable and cannot be used to identify any individual users.

Functionality Cookies

These cookies remember your choices and preferences such as currency, items viewed, search parameters, wish-lists and any items saved for later. These cookies provide the user with an enhanced user experience making their visits more personalised and pleasant. Again any information collected and stored by these cookies is merged and is not personally identifiable and cannot be used to identify any individual users.

Targeting, Affiliate and Banner Advertising

When you visit trilogystores.co.uk you may notice some cookies that aren't related to Trilogy. For example, we use cookies to create adaptive, personalised banners that display relevant offers (such as recommendations of products that you might be interested in) when you visit other selected websites. We don't control the setting of these cookies, so please check the third-party websites for more information about their cookies and how to manage them.

If you take the opportunity to 'share' trilogystores.co.uk content with friends through social networks – such as Facebook and Twitter - you may be sent cookies from these websites. If you don't wish to enable cookies, you'll still be able to browse the site and use it for research purposes. Most web browsers have cookies enabled, but see Managing cookies for help to turn them on should you need to.

Please note that cookies can't harm your computer. We don't store personally identifiable information such as credit card details in cookies we create, but we do use encrypted information gathered from them to help improve your experience of the site. For example, they help us to identify and resolve errors, or to determine relevant related products to show you when you're browsing.

We do have relationships with carefully-selected and monitored suppliers who may also set cookies during your visit to be used for remarketing purposes - in other words to show you different products and services based on what you appear to be interested in. If you'd like to opt out, please go to the Network Advertising Initiative website (opens in a new window - please note that we're not responsible for the content of external websites).
